The NEHA Council has established a Community Herbalist Award to honor those amongst us who have done much to share their knowledge and love of medicinal plants. This past November at our Annual Retreat, Agnes Adler was presented with the very first award. If any of you have ever met Agnes at any of the numerous conferences over the years, you will know what an amazing woman she is and what an incredible life she has led.

So we are asking all of you enthusiastic herbalists out there to send in your nominations for this years recipient. We have established some guidelines to help you with your decision on who to nominate. The criteria are as follows:

The nominee must be a member of NEHA.

The nominee must have been or is still involved in service to the herbal community.

The nominee must make herbalism accessible to the community at large.

If you know of someone whom you feel fits this description that you would like to nominate; please write 2-3 paragraphs with your information and send it to the address listed below.

The deadline for your nomination is August 30th.  All nominations will be posted online on the NEHA website and then your votes must be cast by September 1st. The nominee will be awarded at the Annual Retreat in November. This will be held November 14th , 15th , and 16th at 9Mountain in Plainfield, MA. (You can read more about the Retreat in this Journal). We look forward to hearing from you.
