I am a writer, green witch, an herbalist, a wisewoman… one who loves the earth and gives voice to the healing wild food and medicine plants which surround us and a teacher of WiseWoman Healing Ways of Herbal Medicine and EarthSpirit teachings. Common plants are our teachers. Weeds and wild flowers show us the joyful abundance and generosity of (our true) nature. They freely share their gifts of food, medicine, beauty, and wholeness. It is my pleasure to help women and men remember our ancient and global heritage of Wisewoman Healing Ways; ways of compassionate intuition, nurturing ourselves and our unique rhythms, magical rituals celebrating the cycles of life, death and rebirth, and honoring the sacred web of life.

I am a community herbalist, educator, medicine-maker, permaculturalist and herb-grower. My herbal practice is grounded in the Wise Woman Tradition of herbalism and greatly influenced by the ancient herbal traditions of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a teacher and practitioner I enjoy helping my students and community connect with their herbal roots (we all have them!) and believe there is a deep cultural healing that occurs when folks connect personally with their medicine- be it harvesting and drying their own herbs, incorporating herbs into their cooking routines, brewing a simple cup of tea, or recognizing the weeds growing in the sidewalk cracks! I am passionate about educating the public about the wonders of herbal medicine and regularly lead herbwalks and herbal classes all throughout the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, and sometimes beyond. And, since I simply can't keep my hands out of the dirt, I started an medicinal plant nursery, propagating and growing over a hundred medicinal herbs and offering them to the public, so that folks can grow and tend their own medicine! I live on a small herb farm in the woods where I share the land with my family, chickens, cats and over 100 species of medicinal herbs. Every Friday I staff the Blue Dragon Community Herbal Clinic in Greenfield, MA, a low-cost, walk-in clinic.
